Four years ago, we bought my parents home. They moved 40 minutes away, and then 2 years later they moved 16 hours away---to St. George, Utah. Last spring they submitted "mission papers" to volunteer for a church mission anywhere in the world. During the summer, they received their mission "call" or assignment. They were called to the "Kennewick Washington Mission" (where I live!!!!), specifically assigned at Camp Zarahemla, as the soul caretakers of the outdoor recreation property there. We couldn't believe it.
They arrived at Zarahemla in September.
During the first weekend of October, we went to visit. The camp is closed to the public that weekend because of our church's General Conference. The conference is broadcast worldwide. We went to Camp Zarahemla to spend the weekend playing with Grandma and Grandpa, and to watch conference together. We had a blast--canoeing, biking, climbing, hiking, and relaxing! And what a better way to spend a weekend when you are 9 months pregnant!
