Math Team

 Matthew and Nathan competed in the District Math Competition.  Nathan placed 1st out of all of the 4th grade students.  His team also placed.  Matthew's team placed first for the 6th grade.

Miriam's 3rd Birthday

Miriam turned 3 years old.  We had a family party of pizza rolls, presents, and dessert.  Miriam then performed at our Poetry Night we had for our home education group.  She recited "Mary Had a Little Lamb."

Trying my hand at CROCHET

 I'm learning how to crochet.  I've been toying with it for a handful of months, and in December I decided to try crocheting from a pattern.  I love it!  These slippers are my first project from a pattern.  They turned out so well, I made two pairs--one for me, and one for my mom's birthday.  Small items are very fun to me---I can complete them while watching a movie or while nursing a little baby named Emma.  So now, after a few months, I have tried some other projects:

Hair Flowers, headbands

 Baby Shoes

 And my favorite........little boots for babies

I've made three sets now for baby gifts.

 Our little Emma is growing up.  She is almost 4 months old, and has some great squishy cheeks!  We love them.  She is the sweetest tempered baby, but of course that is somewhat necessary when you have 6 siblings mauling you with love all day, every day.  We love her!
